1996

After two years of the almost exclusively male world of Paul Bunyan, the artist was ready for something featuring the ladies. 1996 was the year of Mermaids. First in pastel, then also in mixed media, these visions came to life. However much the artist tried to empathize, being male, he still came up against the tension between the sexes. Mermaids embody themes of both fear and desire.
